Waverly Downs Northwest, 42-7

(Grand Island, NE) - It was a tough night for the Northwest Vikings to kick off the season vs the defending Class B state champs, as the Vikings fell to Waverly by a final score of 42-7. Waverly would go into the locker room with a 35-0 lead at halftime. 

Waverly would tack on one more score in the second half. Northwest would get a 42-yard touchdown pass from Blake Wissing to Landon Vasicek for the lone score of the game. 

Waverly (1-0) will be back in action next week hosting McCook. Northwest (0-1) will be on the road next Friday, September 4th, at Crete. Listen live on 103.1 FM KJ Country & 1031kjcountry.com.
