Wildcat Softball Season ends in C3 Subdistrict Championship vs Central City.

St Paul Softball

It was a long day of softball for the St. Paul Wildcats Softball team as the Cats squared off against the Arlington Eagles in Central City in the C3 Subdistrict Tournament. The Cats were winners earlier this season over Arlington 9-4 at the Arlington Invite earlier this season.

This was a different Eagles squad in a game that saw a pitchers duel through the 5th inning before Arlington capitalized on a Wildcat Error to take a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats were down to their 9th life in the 7th inning down to their final out 3 seniors came up in the clutch for the Cats as Kami Sack reached to keep the game alive. Audra Dugan was able to find a gap to move Sack to 3rd and herself to 2nd following an errant throw with Senior Addy Wegner cleaning up the basepaths with a 2 run RBI double to give St. Paul the 2-1 lead late. Wegner, the Wildcat pitcher was able to close out Arlington with a runner at first to end the Eagles Season.

The Cats then turned their attention to host Central City who picked up a 13-1 winner earlier in the day over Fillmore Central the Bison were well rested.

The Bison scored 3 runs in the first. The Cats answered with an Avery Hansel run following an error by Central CIty on a Tavyn Anderson at Bat. The Bison added 2 more runs in the 2nd. The 2 teams then split a scoreless 3rd before the Bison added a 6 spot in the bottom of the 4th ultimately ending the Wildcat season at 13-14.

Addy Wegner and Avery Hansel earned our Dugout Grill Dang Good Plays of the Games in 1 and 2 respectively while Tavyn Anderson and Ali Dugan earned RUNZA MVP Honors.
