Wildcat Volleyball earns road sweep at Sutton.

St Paul Volleyball

Fresh off their first win of the season on Tuesday against Ord in 4 sets. The St. Paul Wildcat volleyball team was in action Thursday night at Sutton to take on the Fillies. Last year's matchup went the distance going 5 sets as St. Paul won the final 2 frames.

The Cats got off to a back and forth start in the first set before pulling away late as Junior Aubree Fitzgerald helped close out the first set with 2 of the final 3 points to get the Cats a 25-20 Set 1 victory.

The Fillies didn't go down quietly as they roared off to a 10-3 Set 2 lead but thats where the tide of the contest changed as Junior Zaya Lewis and the St. Paul Defense were able to go on an 11-0 run sucking the life out of Sutton to go up 14-10 and never looked back taking the 2nd set 25-21.

The Cats wasted little time in the 3rd taking the 25-9 victory led by Addi Platek, Fitzgerald, and Senior Katie Oakley to get the 3 set sweep.

Zaya Lewis earned Runza MVP honors for her 11-0 run while Aubree Fitzgerald takes home the Dugout Grill Dang Good Play of the Game with a play in the first set that stole the momentum from Sutton and ultimately helped the Cats take Set 1.

St. Paul will be in action Saturday at the Lexington Invite and will be back at home on Tuesday for a Triangular with Arcadia/Loup City and Ravenna.
