Wildcats battle elements; Win Kearney Catholic Invite

This time last year, the St. Paul Wildcats Golf team with the same kids didn't place as a team at Meadowlark Hills for the Kearney Catholic Invite, they finished with one individual placer.

This year's team fueled by drive dominated a field of 17 teams including some of the best teams in Class C and D. Winning the Kearney Catholic Invite by 12 strokes over the host Stars 298-310. The win evens out the series between the Stars and Wildcats as Kearney Catholic won the Adams Central Invite earlier this season.

The Cats' top four finished in the Top 10 with Beau Paro 4th overall, Maddox Quinn 5th, and Jackson Wegner 6th. Casen Kavan rounded out the top 10 finishing with a 78 while Sawyer Kavan finished in the Top 20.

Beau Paro 35 37 72 - 4th Place

Maddox Quinn 36 37 73 - 5th Place

Jackson Wegner 39 36 75 - 6th Place

Casen Kavan 39 39 78 - 10th Place

Sawyer Kavan 41 42 83 - 20th Place

The Wildcats will hit the links again Friday at the Centura Invite.
