Wildcats Win GICC Invite Over Stacked Field
If Rob Wegner was grading his team's effort this season based on their record in tournament play, the Wildcats most certainly would have an A. In arguably the biggest invite of the regular season, the Cats handled business as usual against 18 other teams winning the GICC Invite at Indianhead in Grand Island on Tuesday.
The Cats finished three golfers in the overall Top 15 claiming the invite by seven strokes over Archbishop Bergan 299-306.
Jackson Wegner paced the Wildcats with a personal best 70 to finish third overall while Senior Beau Paro finished fifth with a 73 and Maddox Quinn rounded out the pack of medalists finishing 15th with a 77. Casen Kavan finished 23rd overall with a 79 and Sawyer Kavan finished with an 87.

The Cats will get another crack at Indianhead on Thursday, the site for this year's Class C State Championship with the Lou Platte Conference Crown as St. Paul will look to win the Conference Title for the Third year in a row.
