Work will begin on US-30
April 10, 2026 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 13 on U.S. Highway 30 (US-30), from reference post 319.00 to reference post 327.00, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work includes widening existing roadway surface at two locations (intersections) for left-turn lanes, milling and resurfacing the road and shoulder with asphalt, full-depth reconstruction of 4 to 2 lane transition area, and lighting and culvert work. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions and a pilot car and flaggers. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
